Product Description
The 749A Bower is a removable cone for a single-row tapered roller bearing, consisting of the inner ring and rollers. When combined with a separately available cup (outer ring), it forms a complete tapered roller bearing, capable of absorbing radial and axial forces. The design prevents sliding, minimizing wear, but requires a minimum load for proper operation. The separable cone and cup facilitate easy mounting and allow for adjustment of axial clearance or preload during assembly. For reliable performance, it is recommended to replace both components simultaneously and to use matching parts from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing issues.
