Product Description
The 744 Bower is a removable cone for a single-row tapered roller bearing, comprising the inner ring and rollers. When paired with a separately available cup, these parts form a complete tapered roller bearing designed to absorb radial and axial forces in one direction. The conical raceways and tapered rollers prevent sliding movements and minimize wear, although a minimum load is necessary for proper operation. The separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and adjustment of axial clearance or preload during assembly. For optimal performance and longevity, it’s recommended to replace both the cone and cup at the same time and to use components from the same manufacturer to avoid potential bearing problems.
