Product Description
The 6386 Bower is the inner ring and rollers of a single-row tapered roller bearing, designed to be used with a separately available cup to create a complete tapered roller bearing. Its conical raceways and tapered rollers enable it to absorb radial and axial forces in one direction. Tapered roller bearings prevent sliding movements, reducing component wear, but require a minimum load for operation. The separable cone and cup can be easily mounted and adjusted for end play or preload during assembly. For reliable operation, it’s recommended to replace both cone and cup at the same time, ideally from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems caused by differences in internal profiles, material, and tolerances.
