Product Description
The 6386 Bower is the inner ring and rollers of a single-row tapered roller bearing. When combined with a separate cup (outer ring), they create a complete tapered roller bearing. With conical raceways and tapered rollers, this design allows the bearing to withstand radial and axial forces in one direction without sliding. Adequate axial load is necessary for proper functioning. The separable cone and cup make for easy mounting and allow for adjustment of axial clearance or preload during assembly. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace both cone and cup simultaneously and use parts from the same manufacturer to avoid potential bearing issues.
