Product Description
The 612 Timken is an outer ring cup designed for use with a single-row tapered roller bearing. When combined with a separately available cone, it forms a complete tapered roller bearing with conical raceways and rollers, enabling it to handle radial and axial forces. The tapered design minimizes sliding and wear, but a minimum load is required for proper operation. The separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and adjustment of axial clearance or preload. For optimal performance, it’s recommended to replace both the cone and cup at the same time, and to use components from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems.
