Product Description
The 493X Timken is a cup designed for use with a single-row tapered roller bearing. When combined with a separate cone, it forms a complete tapered roller bearing assembly. The conical raceways and roller elements enable the bearing to handle radial and axial forces in one direction, with increased axial load capacity at greater angles. The design minimizes component wear by preventing sliding movements, and proper operation requires a minimum load. The separable cone and cup make for easy mounting and adjustment of axial clearance or preload. For optimal performance, it’s recommended to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously and to use components from the same manufacturer to avoid potential bearing problems due to differences in internal profiles, materials, or tolerances.
