Product Description
The 24724X Timken is a cup designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing. It serves as the outer ring and can be paired with a separately available cone to form a complete bearing. With conical raceways and roller elements, this design allows for the absorption of radial and axial forces in one direction. Tapered roller bearings prevent sliding movements, reducing wear, although a minimum load is required for proper operation. The separable cone and cup enable easy mounting and adjustment of axial clearance or preload during assembly. For reliable operation, it is recommended to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously, preferably from the same manufacturer to avoid compatibility issues.
