Product Description
The 18790 Bower is a removable cone that forms the inner ring and rollers of a single-row tapered roller bearing. When combined with a separately available cup (outer ring), it creates a complete bearing capable of absorbing radial and axial forces. Its design prevents sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, minimizing wear. Proper bearing operation requires a minimum load, and end play or preload can be adjusted during assembly. To ensure reliable operation, it is advised to replace both the cone and cup at the same time and to use components from the same manufacturer to prevent bearing problems.
