Product Description
The 5584 Bower is a removable cone for a single-row tapered roller bearing, comprising the inner ring and rollers. When combined with a separately available cup, it forms a complete tapered roller bearing capable of handling radial and axial forces. The conical raceways and tapered rollers prevent sliding movements, minimizing wear. Proper bearing operation requires a minimum load, and adjustments for axial clearance or preload can be made during assembly. For reliable performance, it is best to replace the cone and cup simultaneously and use components from the same manufacturer to avoid bearing problems. Always pair the 5584 Bower with a matching cup from the same manufacturer.
