Product Description
The SMC3 Hirschmann is a rod end featuring a spherical plain bearing with a steel-on-bronze sliding contact, offering high wear resistance and low friction. This component is designed to accommodate misalignment and support radial forces in a tensile or compressive direction. Despite slightly lower load capacity compared to bearings with steel-on-steel sliding contacts, it requires regular maintenance, including proper lubrication to reduce friction and prevent fouling and corrosion. Commonly used at the end of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, rod ends like the SMC3 Hirschmann are also used to connect two shafts.
