Product Description
The 496 NTN is a removable cone specifically designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing. It includes the inner ring and rollers of the bearing. When paired with a separate cup (outer ring), these components form a complete tapered roller bearing, capable of handling radial and axial forces in one direction. The geometrical design of tapered roller bearings minimizes sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, reducing wear. It’s important to note that proper bearing operation requires a minimum load. The cone and cup are easily separable for mounting, and the axial clearance or preload can be adjusted during assembly. For reliable operation, it’s recommended to replace both the cone and cup together and to use components from the same manufacturer to prevent potential bearing issues.
