Product Description
The 5557 FAG is a removable cone specifically designed for a single-row tapered roller bearing. It includes the inner ring and rollers, and when combined with a cup (outer ring), forms a complete tapered roller bearing. This bearing is designed with conical raceways and tapered rollers to effectively absorb radial and axial forces in one direction.
Tapered roller bearings are engineered to minimize sliding movements between the raceways and rollers, reducing component wear. Proper bearing operation requires a minimum load. The separable cone and cup allow for easy mounting and adjustment of end play or preload during assembly.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace both the cone and cup simultaneously, using components from the same manufacturer to prevent any potential bearing problems due to variations in internal bearing profiles, material differences, or tolerances. Always combine the 5557 FAG with a matching cup from the same manufacturer for reliable operation.
